Our Story & Leadership
As an active Domestic Nonprofit Corporation based in Kaunakakai, Hawaii, the Ho‘omōhala O Moloka‘i Foundation plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our island's development is carried out in a way that respects its cultural heritage.
We emphasize the preservation and celebration of Moloka‘i's unique traditions, ensuring they are integrated into our community and protected for generations to come. Through curated educational programs, meaningful experiences, and culturally focused events, we strive to uplift our 'ohana while promoting sustainable practices that align with the values of our island home.
Community Impact: Moloka‘i COVID-19 Relief

The founders of Ho‘omōhala O Moloka‘i Foundation were the first group on the island to take the lead and organize relief for people with Covid-19. On day one of the first cases on Moloka‘i, our team quickly organized volunteers to gather food, supplies, and absolute necessities for the community.
Moloka‘i is a very rural island with no at-home delivery services. Families who had to quarantine immediately needed to stay indoors, and most were unprepared for this sudden shift. The Moloka‘i Covid-19 Relief Group reached out for donations within the community, and soon, we had everything you could think of to help our neighbors in need.
Strict protocols were put into place to keep the virus from spreading. Donations were processed in a designated drop-off area, picked up by volunteers without any human interaction, thoroughly sanitized, and distributed to families in a safe, contact-free manner.
